We all have values, priorities, preferences, principles and prejudices that govern how we make decisions and determine the ultimate results of our choices.
Stable society consists of stable, loving families; where which the bedrock principles of work, honesty, respect and kindness are taught to each new generation. Marriage and family life were instituted by God for our benefit and progression, and some of our greatest joys may be found in family life harmonised according to God's commandments.
The teachings of my church strengthen my family and deepen my sense of the brotherhood of Man. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I accept all honest seekers of truth as my natural friends, and have a positive outlook on all faiths as far as they originated from the same ultimate source.
God communicates with us through the gentle impressions of the Holy Spirit and through the words of inspired men who help conserve true principles and protect us from the harmful effects of temporary cultural trends. God is not responsible for man's failure to obey His commandments or for differences of opinion that have arisen over points of doctrine.
In 1820 a young man called Joseph Smith, confused by the differences of opinion among the various religious authorities, asked God in prayer which church he should join. God answered Joseph Smith's simple, faithful prayer; and provided through him a corroboration of the ancient apostles' testimony of Jesus Christ.
